One-time only rant

Okay, so I'm assuming you all have seen the trailer for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. If you haven't, go give it a watch, and come back once you've formed your opinion.
Why? Why is it that so many people are so quick to shun this movie before it's even released? Okay, the dinosaur designs haven't changed, so what? People use the "they are sticking to the Jurassic Park art style", because it is a valid response.
Okay we get it, you're upset that the visual style hasn't changed. I'm sorry, but if you loved Jurassic Park, and you are angry that they aren't changing the dinosaurs to be more accurate, that doesn't mean Universal is going to call you and say they are sorry for disappointing you. Let it go (queue Frozen.) Either accept that the visual style isn't going to change, or find/create a new dinosaur story to challenge it. That way, you can add all the accuracies you want, all while pleasing casual movie goers( I'd be thrilled if someone could do that.)
Stop waiting for Jurassic World to play catch up, a lot of people know that these aren't the real dinosaurs, and still like the new movies( myself included.) I love Jurassic Park/World, The Isle, Saurian etc. I love them all because they are DINOSAURS!
They are animals, that are nothing but piles of rocks in the ground, they can't come up and protest about how they are portrayed. Stop taking this shit so seriously, these are f**king monster movies!

Hello everyone, been a couple of years since I last wrote a journal.
Listen, I would like to keep this short, so I'm going to skip to why I'm writing this journal, and tell you all that this is to help bring an artist's fantasy novel to life.
A fellow deviant,
is soon to open up the Kickstarter for her YA fantasy novel, with dinosaurs: Mark of the Conifer, for a second time after just barley missing her stretch goal. Those who follow my account should know I am a massive fan of dinosaurs, both accurate and inaccurate. Mark of the Conifer stood out from other dinosaur books because the character designs are based off of our modern day perception of these animals, so these dinos are fluffy. This book peaked my interest instantly, and I want to read it, but both myself and everyone of you can't unless the Kickstarter is backed. If anyone of you here are in love with dinosaurs, and fantasy, this book might appeal to you. Please, give this novel your support. Even the author of the Summer King Chronicles 
gave this project her support. If anyone of you here are fans of Jess's novels, then you might like this dinosaur epic. Below, I will leave links to the books facebook group, the website, and I will update this journal when the kickstarter goes public.

Story synopsis
Hatched beneath a solar eclipse, the young raptor warrior Sunstrike enters the world in the shadow of Sol— the goddess of the dinosaurs. Sunstrike is devoted to Sol’s holy law and takes pride in keeping the Pact, the sacrificial regard between hunters and hunted.
But the balance of nature is destroyed, and darkness spreads over the land in the shadow of the Empress Charr, a vicious tyrant bent on ruling the North American Cretaceous. Her conquering regime carries a strange and terrifying magic: the knowledge of fire.
His faith in Sol shattered, Sunstrike sets out on an extraordinary quest for justice. When he becomes the protector of the last free herd, he faces challenges to his honor, his courage, and the lives of his friends that will reveal a terrifying destiny.

Long Overdue Update

Hey everyone. It's been how long, since I've written a journal? Regardless I feel you guys deserve to know that I am still alive on DeviantART, I've recently graduated from high school this past summer and now attending classes at my county's community college. My major of choice is graphic design, so I haven't had a lot of proper time to draw what I'd like to, but new artwork will come to this account. I do have some news involving my movie "Chronicles of the Blue Flame". The film has to be put on hold for a while so I can focus on school, but I still draw my characters now and then. They've been going through some work to bring out the style that I want, which is a style that is realistic, but doesn't take away the expression of the character. Also some big news, the film's team "Splat Entertainment" has changed it's name to "NeilFinnStudios". I changed the name because the old name didn't seem original to me and if i'm going to make my mark in the fantasy world, I need to do it under my name. Well I hope your'e happy that i'm still kicking XD. I'll upload more stuff when I can, until then see ya later.

First Week of Senior Year

Hey guys. Well, it's finally arrived. I'm officially a Senior in High School. Monday was the start of the first legit week of school and so far, I'm enjoying it. Although there are some people in some of my classes that I'd prefer them to be in, it doesn't because I'm focused on working my butt off this year. I'm taking mainly electives this year with a few academics. Most of my electives consist of art classes such as both Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. I'm taking Illustrator this semester and Photoshop next semester then I'm taking Technical Drawing second semester as well. Also, I'm taking new class my friends actually started, Computer Science- Java. I'm looking forward to programming on "Greenfoot Programming" because it'll help me learn something essential for my future career of computer animation. I'm taking so many art classes so I get enough experience and learn how to make better digital paintings to make concept art and paintings for both my portfolio and Chronicles of the Blue Flame which may not be slowed down this year since due to little to no homework. Also, I've been planning out a new digital painting that may go in my portfolio. It's a digital piece based off the graphic novel by Barry Sonnenfeld and Grant Morrison, Dominion: Dinosaurs Vs Aliens. I'm really looking forward to working on it and i'm gonna take my time with it. As for Chronicles of the Blue Flame, we haven't started animating since we are still building things in blender and my lack of writing the script XD. But, I intend to pick up the pace once my laptop gets cleaned. My dad's going to get our main computer cleaned by his friend and he said he can bring mine too so he can take out all un-needed files and put a permanent antivirus software on it so it'll run smoother and more efficiently. The story takes the form of a 3d animated film but, I've been publishing the scene scripts to DeviantArt so interested individuals can get a sense of what the film will be like.

The Story is about a young Pyro dragon named FireDrake Fenoz is the vessel for his world's most incredible ability, the Aques Infernus which possesses the magical energies of the realms four main elemental species. In FireDrake's time, strange things have been going on in the realm he lives in named Havocen and the different species are getting into conflicts which may be the prelude to war. When FireDrake searches for answers, he meet a former vessel for the Aques Infernus who has since long pasted away named Evelon Houndu. Evelon feels everything that's happening is the starting phase of an evil entity return named Chernobog. In order to stop this from happening, FireDrake along with his two trusted companions, Sonia Gelmor and Tornado Quildin set out with Evelon as they're guide to find a dragon named Orcrosan Malbu who lies the cold tundras within the Mountains of Belarom so FireDrake can figure out how to stop this potential evil and war from ever happening.

Well, at the moment, this film is the only one in production. I have a sequel in mind but that wont even be considered until after this project is done. So, I believe some day, there will be two films.

Well, since I was a kid, I was always drawing. I've gone from dinosaurs to people then pokemon and beyond. But, I especially loved stories of fantasy with huge trolls, wise elves and wizards fighting might dragons and all of that started when my dad would read The Lord of the Rings books to me before I went to bed. Then, I fell in love with the idea of creating my own world. As I grew up, the idea still lingered in the back of my mind. Then, I became hooked into drawing dragons. I really don't remember when it started but, I believe some of it started when my sister and I created a idea for a book called, The Islands of Toraplane which the main characters were dragons. I remember when she created a small map on a sticky note that showed all the islands together in the 5 dotted square pattern. Years pasted and we long forgot all about that idea but, I still loved the idea of creating my own world. Then, I drew FireDrake Fenoz for the first time and then when I started to write the story for an original film, I knew that with hard work, editing, well executed animations and a great story, I can create my own world from scratch and show it to all.
e) What inspired you to write it?
Well, J.R.R Tolkien helped me with the concept of giving both the dragons, gryphons and other mythological creatures a since of culture, diversity in they're languages and behaviors.
Also, more recently James Gurney who's the author and illustrator of the DinoTopia books provided a lot of inspiration and ideas on how to basically create this world of the Elemental Manipulators from the ground up.
Lastly, William O Conner who's both the author and illustrator of the DracoPedia books opened my eyes to the different varieties of dragons and other creatures that could populate all corners of this world.
f) Would you ever get it published if you could?
Well, the initial idea is to get this film out to the public, just need to figure out how to get everything in order to do so.

Well, If I could rewrite it, I'd only edit my descriptions and details so readers can picture the scenes better.

Well, in order to explain FireDrake, let me start with his two friends. Sonia is the brains of the group so she's very intelligent and good at problem solving. But, she's also the type to talk tough and has the skills to show it.
Tornado is the runt of the group. He is a hybrid between dragon & gryphon which is a great combination. Yet, he isn't the one who can solve massive equations. He does everything by instinct including how his brain works in flight. He enjoys cutting loose and having fun. So basically, he's the "Wild One" of the group.
So, FireDrake is well rounded between the two of them. He's intelligent but not too intelligent which lets him have fun with Tornado and enjoy a good race. But since he wields the Aques Infernus, he's not lazy. He does a good job taking his responsibilities seriously and is a good leader for the trio.
They're guide, Evelon however is a curious one. Since he's the second Aques Infernus vessel, he's relatively new to everything in the realms current layout. He's had years of training in the ways of combat since he was alive and even when he entered the spirit world. He's a dragon from the past and desires to stop what's happening in FireDrake's time so a repeat of his time doesn't occur here again.
Orcrosan is a wise and inspirational character. He's more of a voice of reason and will help those you need it. In fact, he's so intelligent he's been given the title of a "Chronicler" which makes you in charge of keeping track of certain individuals life stories species of dragon mainly from they're own kind but can also be in charge of chronicling the history of dragon of a higher status. You can also become a "Chronicler" by being a high level sorcerer/sorceress which he is. With all his brains and magical skills, he's really had no contact with other dragons since his kind spends most of they're time alone in solitude so,he's a tad-bit shy and it's awkward for him to start a random conversation if he doesn't have a topic.

The main villain of the story is Chernobog. His original creator
has given me permission to work with this character and make him into a outstanding villain. He's a villain that is very manipulative and has ways of getting what he desires. That's all I'm gonna share. The rest, you'll find out soon enough.

Well, you may think I'm gonna say FireDrake but Tornado is probably my top favorite.

I think Tornado because he's a character that loves to have fun, lives on the edge and makes the best out of a bad situation(kinda like me, a guy who likes to brighten up the room with a joke.)
Well, FireDrake's biggest fear is seeing his friends injured or dead because of him.

No, FireDrake does not have a love interest. People would assume it's Sonia since she's the only female but, she and FireDrake have been friends since childhood so it would be awkward for them both if they dated, broke up and wanted to hang out.

Well, FireDrake does have a dark form which we will see in the movie... (but only for a short while). He would be a dragon that has no feelings, no attachments and even no memories of being a hero. He'd just be a dragon who's eyes only hold darkness. He would be consumed by hatred, a bitterness towards the world and unable to really trust anyone. He would even reject the ones who try to help.

Once again, Chernobog's past is going to remain a mystery but he was born as a protagonist. That's all i'm gonna say.

Chernobog's past is still a mystery but since you ask, I'll say he was consumed by revenge at some point in his life and gradually became the evil villain he turned into.

The story is told throughout an adventure going North on the Eastern part of the realm. They travel to different locations and discover more about Orcrosan and the villain they're hoping to stop.

My characters, think of it as an experience of a life time. If you are wondering, "Why does FireDrake agree to go on an adventure with a dragon spirit he just met and his two best friends come with him." FireDrake goes because he believes Evelon because everything he told FireDrake makes since. He also goes because as the vessel for the Aques Infernus it's his job to find this growing evil and stop it for the safety of everyone in this world. His friends Sonia and Tornado go because they know won't get an experience like this ever again and they want to be there for FireDrake so he doesn't have to do it alone.
